The Commission on Teacher Credentialing issues various types of credentials, certificates, and permits. Many of these documents require renewal on a regular basis. It is the credential holder's responsibility to complete the requirements for the renewal of their document. The renewal code(s) and renewal requirement(s) for each credential, certificate, and permit were printed on the face of the document until September 1, 2008. Since that date, all documents issued by the Commission are available only in a view and print format, available on the Commission's website.

The holder of this Certificate of Eligibility has completed the college or university program and all other requirements for the Preliminary Level I Education Specialist Instruction Credential and is authorized to seek employment in a position providing direct instruction to special education students as specified in the authorization statement below. The Preliminary Level I Credential will be issued when the holder submits (1) this Certificate, (2) verification of employment in an appropriate position on a form provided by the Commission, and (3) an application form and appropriate fee to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The fee for the Preliminary Level I Credential has been established at one-half of the application fee in effect at the time the application is submitted, but only if this original Certificate is included with the application. If this original Certificate does not accompany the application for the preliminary credential, the holder may not claim the fee credit and must pay the full application fee.
